Complementary Sport Techniques (TCS) represent an innovative methodology for improving performance in sport, functional recovery, and the prevention of injuries that athletes often tend to be subjected to.
For more than 10 years now, TCS represent a valid tool and resource for students and graduates with degrees in Sports Science, for athletic trainers, physiotherapists, specialists in motor rehabilitation and everyone involved in sporting activities. These techniques are based on the integration of knowledge of Western well-being methodologies with those of other cultures, in particular oriental ones. These techniques have been scientifically recognised as being natural methods for improving health and stamina of athletes as well as people not involved in sport activities.
Professor Stefano Tirelli, lecturer at the Cattolica University in Milan, Italy, teaches Complementary Sport Techniques at the Faculty of Sports Science there. He is the inventor and founder of the Complementary Sport Techniques (TCS) method and has been applying it in world-wide sport for over 10 years. Amongst the many teams and athletes he collaborates with or has applied the TCS method to, the following are but a few: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Emile Heskey (Aston Villa), Carlo Cudicini (Tottenham), John Terry (Chelsea), Michael Essien (Chelsea F.C.), Michael Essien (Chelsea F.C.), Alessandro Del Piero (F.C. Juventus), Sulley Muntari (F.C. Internazionale), Nwanko Kanu (Portsmouth F.C.), the England National Football Team, the Ghana National Football Team, Nigeria National Football Team, United Arab Emirates Football Team, Qatar; and the Olimpia Basket Milano basketball team.
Stefano Tirelli Honours: Asian Champions League (Al Ain-UAE 2004); Gulf Cup 2007 (United Arab Emirates); Turkish League and Turkish Cup 2007 (Fenerbahce F.C.); F.A. Cup 2007,2009 and 2010 (Chelsea F.C.); Premier League (Chelsea F.C.); F.A. Cup 2008 (Portsmouth F.C.); finalist in Champions League 2008 (Moscow), participation in World Cup in Germany 2006, Africa Cup in 2006 and 2008 (Ghana F.A.), Asian Cup in 2007 (UEA) and South Africa World Cup 2010
Scientific studies proving the effectiveness of the TCS method as a means of optimizing conditioning capacities and coordination were presented by Professor Stefano Tirelli in person and confirmed at international conventions on sport medicine and training methodologies (European College of Sport Science of Belgrade, Lisbon and Jyvaskyla). Professor Stefano Tirelli has also published: Complementary Sport Techniques (Libreria dello Sport) and Complementary Sport Techniques – Shiatsu and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the World of Sport (CEA publishing with co-authors: S. Bergamaschi, M. Del Prete, E. Tirelli, and G. Ginelli).
